Description

1. Introduction The transition from teacher-centered to pupil-centered models of teaching has resulted in the formulation of preschool curricula based on children's experiences and active participation in exploratory learning processes. This approach is supported by the view that an environment rich in motivations can effortlessly ensure a child's development. However, this "natural development" stance has been questioned. According to Vygotsky [1] knowledge is socially acquired through communication and the teachers' role is crucial in this respect. Considering social interaction as vital in learning, the social organization of teaching activities becomes a key factor in the achievement of the teaching objectives.
